Happy Spring!

Just wanted to share something important with you. During May, Dr. Lewellis and our awesome Skinnovations team are all about spreading the word on skin cancer. We're super keen on helping everyone lower their risk by offering some great education, assessments, and handy tips on reducing risks. Let's take care of our skin together!

Let's Review the Facts!

Did you Know?

  • Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the United States, with approximately 1 in 5 Americans developing it by the age of 70.

  • More than 2 people die of skin cancer in the US every hour.

  • Having 5 or more sunburns doubles your risk for melanoma.

  • June on indoor tanning sessions before the age of 35 results in a 75% increased risk of developing life-threatening melanoma.

Types of Rosacea

In Regards to Aging:

  • 80% of visible skin aging in Caucasian women is caused by sun damage

  • Both UVA and UVB rays damage the skin and increase risk of skin cancer

  • UVB (think sun Burn) causes your skin to burn, creates DNA damage and leads to skin cancer

  • UVA (think Aging) penetrates deeper into the skin than UVB rays, reaching the dermis causing premature aging, wrinkling and loss of elasticity. UVA rays damage collagen and elastin, making skin sag and wrinkle

Still not sure if sun exposure accelerates aging, check out this photo of 69-year-old truck driver who never wore sunscreen but had the left side of his face exposed to the sun through the driver's seat window

Are you looking to get rid of sun spots and sun damage and smooth out your skin texture and tone all in one treatment?

Check out our signature Skinnovations Skin Glow Treatment!

What Exactly is the Signature Skinnovations Skin Glow?

This incredible combination treatment helps remove brown spots, sun damage and stubborn red tones in the skin while also stimulating collagen to smooth out fine lines, wrinkles, and improve the texture and tone of the skin.

Is there any downtime with this treatment?

After your treatment, your skin may feel warm to the touch and be slightly red and appear like you had a sunburn. The following day you will be able to apply make-up/tinted sunscreen and go out and about. Everyone is different but most people can return to normal activities right after treatment. It is important to avoid the sun 24 hours pre and post treatment.

How do I know if this treatment is proper for me?

Our aesthetic nurse practitioner and or Hli, our exceptional medical aesthetician, will help you assess your skin and see which laser treatment would be best for you. This treatment involves a noninvasive laser catered to your specific skin concerns, followed by a microneedling treatment, all in one visit! Our medical microneedling treatment creates tiny microinjuries to the skin that help stimulate new collagen and elastin, leaving your skin smooth and refreshed.
